Global Skills has invited Civil Training Australia and Staff Australia to deliver with our team an online employer event on Thursday the 16th December, at 10am, for all Global Skills job seekers.
Employer representatives, Damian and Michael will explain and share job opportunities for our job seekers across Greater Sydney including roles in Warehousing and Logistics such as pick packer, forklift driver and storeperson.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, a great experience. I’m learning so much,” said Mohamad, a participant in Sydney Metro’s Pre-Employment Program (PEP) who secured ongoing employment.
“I love connecting with different types of people from all walks of life. My passion is getting to know who they are and what they can do.” Scott Morton is a Senior Employment Consultant in our Disability Employment Services (DES) program. He says his passion for working with people with disabilities came from spending his gap year in England.
Erin Mathews, one of our Work Retention Officers in our Centralised Services team was heading down the career path of teaching, when she “switched her thinking” and chose Employment Services instead.
“I thrive on the face-to-face interaction that comes with my role. I like being able to get to know each job seeker individually. By understanding their story. I know what they need to be successful before commencing employment.”

Ven Panicker is Global Skills Regional Marketing Coordinator and remembers his decision to move from a product orientated career to one that is human centred, thanks to the kindness of a stranger.
When Amanda needed someone to fill her position while she was on maternity leave, she wanted to ensure her role was in good hands.
“Stay persistent and remain confident that you will find a good job, it’s for your future and for that of your children,” said Global Skills job seeker, Angelica Adrias.
“When they offered me a job it took my breath away. I cried in front of all the Managers. I’d proved to them and to myself that I could do it, after years of being told that I would not become anything!”
From refugee to restaurateur: Agha came to Australia from Pakistan as a refugee in 2019.
Agha joined Global Skills as a jobactive client and also completed our Career Transition Assistance program. With increased confidence Global Skills referred Agha to the Bread & Butter Project where he has flourished.
