National Volunteers Week 2025
This week, 19–25 May 2025, is National Volunteers Week in Australia, which recognises the contributions of volunteers and encourages those not currently involved to give it a go.
Global Skills started delivering Disability Employment services in Sydney in 2006. Global Skills is locally owned and operated, and for the past 30 years we have developed our specialist disability expertise by taking the time to listen to our job seekers. We creatively identify genuine opportunities for all job seekers, regardless of their circumstances.
We are a disability confident employer. We promote diversity to prospective employers and ensure that job seekers find the right support and jobs to suit them. We continue to develop strategic relationships with local employers and complementary services, including training providers so we can assist job seekers’ journey into work.
From your first appointment, you will be connected with a dedicated Employment Consultant who will work 1:1 with you to immediately assess your skills, goals and needs.
Our offices are open on a full time basis so whether you have a scheduled appointment or you need access to our job search centres your Employment Consultant will be available to guide you. Your Consultant will stay in contact with you, including after you start work to provide ongoing support until help is no longer required.
If you’re on an income support payment through Centrelink, such as JobSeeker, Youth Allowance, DSP or Parenting Payment, then you are eligible to join Global Skills.
When you first register with Centrelink, ask to be referred to Global Skills or contact Centrelink and discuss being transferred to us if you are already linked to another DES provider.
Alternatively, you can call the nearest Global Skills office and we can help if you have different circumstances.

This week, Global Skills is proud to support National Careers Week, focusing on the evolving landscape of careers. As industries transform and technology reshapes the workforce, it’s an opportune time to reflect on your career.
