TtW Wyong Participant Lachlan Celebrated at Central Coast Youth Awards

Congratulations to Transition to Work Wyong participant Lachlan, who has been recognised for his incredible contributions to the community.

Lachlan, 19, was recently honoured with the Inspiration Award at the Central Coast Youth Week Awards, a celebration of young people who are making a meaningful impact in their communities. Nominated by his Employment Consultant, Alisha, for the Community Service Award, Lachlan was named a finalist and ultimately selected by the Central Coast Council to receive the well-deserved Inspiration Award.

But that’s not all, Lachlan was also invited to a special lunch with Mayor Lawrie McKinna, where he was presented with a Community Champion Award. This award acknowledges individuals who, through their dedication and initiative, are creating positive change in the lives of others.

Lachlan has become a powerful advocate and mentor for young people in out-of-home care. With lived experience of the care system, he brings genuine insight and empathy to his advocacy work, sharing his story to inspire others across NSW.

Reflecting on his achievements, Lachlan said, “I am honoured to receive this but I have to acknowledge that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of this without the support of my friends, family and Global Skills.”

Congratulations Lachlan, the entire team at Global Skills is proud of your achievements.
