NAIDOC 2025

From 6 to 13 July, Global Skills had the privilege of participating in NAIDOC Week 2025, a time to recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates 50 years of Indigenous resilience and the strength of young leaders.

Global Skills’ Community Engagement Coordinator Jennifer, Transition to Work Manager Chloe and Community Engagement Consultant Robert, attended two events on Darkinjung Country. On Tuesday 8 July, we took part in the Central Coast NAIDOC Community Day at Wyong Race Club, thanks to Nunyara Aboriginal Health CCLHD. Then on Friday 11 July, we joined the celebrations at Mingaletta’s community hub in Umina Beach.

Both events gave our team the opportunity to strengthen our ties with the community and highlight the support we provide through Global Skills’ Transition to Work (TtW) and Workforce Australia employment services.

Global Skills maintains a strong connection with Mingaletta, a key hub in the Umina and Woy Woy area, to support our Indigenous participants. We also recognise the important role of Nunyara Aboriginal Health CCLHD in supporting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the Central Coast.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the organisers and everyone who contributed to making these events a success.
