Last Friday, Global Skills had the opportunity to attend the Homes NSW Youth Development Event, held at Bateau Bay Neighbourhood Centre, thanks to Homes NSW.
The event brought together a wide range of services, giving young people the chance to get hands-on advice, explore career pathways, and connect with local and government support, all in one place.
Our Lake Haven Manager, Jess, spent the day speaking with young people about the opportunities available through our Transition to Work program, while also strengthening connections with local organisations.
Jess shared that the event was a valuable experience for everyone involved: “It was a great opportunity for our participants and other young people on the Coast to build connections and learn about the support available in the community. Being able to access so much information in one place made a real difference.”
Global Skills extends its thanks to everyone involved in organising the event and to all the services who contributed to making it such a positive and informative day for young people.
