This week, 3–9 August, is National Homelessness Week. The 2026 theme, ‘Homelessness Action Now’, highlights that homelessness can be ended when we invest in the solutions that work.
Global Skills recognises the connection between homelessness and unemployment and acknowledges the vital role of services working alongside people experiencing homelessness across Australia.
In continued support of National Homelessness Week, Global Skills has this year donated $500 each to Coast Shelter and Dignity, two organisations that continue to deliver vital support across our service regions.
Coast Shelter in North Gosford delivers a range of essential services designed to support and empower people experiencing homelessness and hardship. Its specialist homelessness services provide safe and supportive accommodation for men, women, children and young people, helping create a foundation for stability.
Dignity in Southwest and Western Sydney provides supported temporary accommodation and longer-term housing and employment programs for hundreds of people every night of the year. Dignity also operates a range of homelessness prevention initiatives, including food relief and education programs across Australia.
Global Skills works alongside organisations including Coast Shelter and Dignity to support people experiencing homelessness, recognising that stable housing, community support and employment services can work together to help people achieve greater independence.
Global Skills extends our thanks to Coast Shelter and Dignity for the important work they do in supporting people in our communities.
