Global Skills was proud to take part in Get Online Week, a national campaign by the Good Things Foundation that helps people feel safer, more confident and better connected online.
Over afternoon tea,15 participants joined us at Global Skills Lake Haven to watch the eSafety Commissioner’s webinar, Protecting Your Personal Information Online. The informative 1-hour session covered why information privacy matters, practical ways to keep personal information secure, common impersonation scams to look out for, and where to go for help and support.
The event also provided participants with an opportunity to explore pathways into training, volunteering and employment. APM attended to discuss the benefits of completing CTA training, Global Skills staff shared information about voluntary work opportunities and current vacancies.
It was wonderful to see participants actively engaging with the team, with the event resulting in referrals to current vacancies, volunteering opportunities and the CTA program.
One participant shared: “The event was very beneficial. I have had my personal information stolen before and I feel far more confident to protect it now. Thank you Global Skills for arranging.”
Global Skills extends our thanks to everyone who joined us and to all those who helped make the Lake Haven event such an informative and engaging afternoon.
