Connecting Communities to Meaningful Work

On Monday, Global Skills attended the Employment Accelerator in Blacktown, alongside Sydney Metro and other local employers, community organisations and job seekers for a day centred on real employment opportunities.

The event brought together local businesses and skilled migrants from across the Blacktown LGA in a practical and welcoming environment. Attendees explored current vacancies, participated in on-the-spot interviews and accessed support to strengthen work readiness, including help with recognising overseas qualifications and prior learning.

Global Skills team members Robert and Trent, together with Amy from Sydney Metro, spent the day speaking with job seekers about the range of pathways and current opportunities available. It was also a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections with employers and community organisations across the region.

Hosted by Local Jobs – Sydney Greater West and organised in collaboration with the SGW CaLD and Migrant Employment Working Group, the event reflects the strong partnerships supporting employment in Greater Western Sydney. As a member of the Working Group, Global Skills is proud to contribute to coordinated efforts that connect skilled migrants and people from diverse cultural backgrounds with meaningful work.
