Congratulations to Morgan, a Global Skills Chatswood participant, on reaching 6 months in his new role.
When Morgan joined Global Skills, he was in the early stages of building his work experience but had a clear idea of what he wanted. With a Certificate III in Horticulture already underway, he was keen to find hands-on outdoor work. “I started the Horticulture course because I wanted to work outside, and it felt like the right fit for me,” Morgan said.
With support from his Employment Consultant Patrick, along with Global Skills Employer Liaison Consultant Afrah, Morgan focused on building his confidence and identifying a role that suited his interests. He was referred to a newly created position with Easy Care Gardening Inc., designed to enhance their support for clients. He successfully secured the job. Easy Care Gardening is largely a volunteer-led organisation that helps older people in the local community maintain their outdoor spaces, helping them to live more independently and safely at home.
Six months on, Morgan is enjoying the work and settling into the role. “I’m working as a gardener for a charity. I love being outdoors, the pace suits me, and Easy Care Gardening are great to work for. They’re very helpful and flexible,” he shared.
Morgan also spoke about the support he received along the way. “Global Skills helped me find a job I’m genuinely interested in and supported me through the process. They offered extra help when I started and I was also fortunate my employer provided everything I needed to get going.”
Congratulations again, Morgan, and thank you for sharing your story.
