Congratulations to Global Skills Liverpool participant Hannah, who has now been working in her childcare traineeship for just over a year.
Hannah, 20, joined Global Skills in February 2024 after finishing school and spending a year as a full-time carer for her mum. With support from her Employment Consultant Jane, she was connected to a traineeship opportunity with Well Balanced Kids Early Learning Centre and successfully got the role.
Her experience as a carer gave her transferable skills that have helped her settle into the childcare setting. Global Skills supported her with a Working with Children Check, uniform, and help with transport so she could get started smoothly.
Since beginning her role in May 2024, Hannah has built strong relationships with the children and team. She’s currently working towards her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and applies what she learns directly in the workplace.
“I love watching the children grow and develop. The course has been really useful. Units like Child Safety and Building Relationships with Children are part of my everyday work. I feel supported by my employer and the rest of the team in my studies and my job.
“Jane has also been lovely and really supportive. Global Skills helped me with everything I needed to get started.”
Hannah is due to complete her traineeship in November and plans to continue working in childcare and go on to study for her Diploma, with support from her employer.
John, a co-owner of Well Balanced Kids Early Learning Centre commented, “When we were looking for a new trainee, we reached out to Global Skills, and they introduced us to Hannah, the perfect fit for our team. Hannah connects so well with the children, and it’s clear that she’s applying everything she’s learning through her studies to her work with us.”
Well done, Hannah. This is a great achievement and a solid start to a rewarding career.
