Congratulations Goran!

Congratulations to Global Skills Liverpool participant Goran on sustained employment. By being open to different opportunities, Goran found a role that suited him.

After being retrenched during COVID from his long-term role in the metalworking industry, Goran then gained some experience in warehousing and was later connected to his Employment Consultant, Srilanki.

Goran remembers, “Srilanki was easy to talk to and very helpful. When a role became available in the airline industry through Global Skills Marketer Piya, I was keen to apply for an Aircraft Cabin Cleaner role, and I was offered the job.”

Since starting in June 2025, Goran has settled in well. “My role at Sydney Airport is fast paced, which I like. I’m quick and confident in my work, and I am enjoying it. I also enjoy meeting people from different countries. My employer is great. They provided my uniform and thorough training when I started, which made a big difference.”

When Goran started work, Global Skills also provided assistance with getting to work via public transport and ongoing support from Srilanki for the first 6 months of employment.

Congratulations again, Goran, and thank you for generously sharing your story.
