Congratulations to Transition to Work (TtW) job seeker Jade on reaching her 6-month employment milestone.

When Jade joined Global Skills Lake Haven in April, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in disability support work having been inspired by her brother who was working in the field.

She remembers, “I was working in Hospitality in my past and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. My brother was doing support work and loved it, so I thought I would give it a go.

“On joining Global Skills, I was connected with my Employment Consultant Paul, and I couldn’t have worked with anyone better. He helped me update my resume, apply for support worker jobs, and even gave me useful tips about the support worker role and industry. When I landed my job, Global Skills helped me gain my First Aid certificate, helped me with fuel to be able to visit my clients and Paul has supported me throughout my Cert III in Community Services studies – which I’m soon to complete. Paul checks in with me every week and always offers support when I need it. He’s amazing.”

Jade is now looking forward to a long and successful career in disability support. Congrats Jade!
