Tracey

Congratulations Tracey

Global Skills Ingleburn job seeker Tracey Boag relocated from the country to the city to improve her opportunities of gaining employment. After exploring a range of industries and training opportunities including Business and Accounting, Tracey’s goal was to find a job she was passionate about and had meaning. A new year brings a fresh start and 2022 has had a positive start for Tracey. She has just landed a great job in the disability sector after participating in an online Disability Support Worker Program. The seven-week program was  funded by the South West Sydney Local Jobs Program and delivered by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and Generation Australia.

Global Skills Senior Employment Consultant Joshua Martinez commented, “I was really keen to refer Tracey to this program, it was a great fit of her skills and interests and I knew she would do well.”

We recently caught up with Tracy who said, “The facilitators of the program were fantastic. I can’t sing their praises enough. They provided a lot of support. If you didn’t fully understand something they helped you one-on-one, outside the virtual classroom. The facilitators have all worked in the disability field and were so honest about why they love it and what to expect. They were just amazing.”

Participants of the course had job interviews arranged for them with the support of Generation Australia and Global Skills. After a successful interview, Tracey was offered a Home Care role with the Co Group.

Tracey said what she learnt in the program gives her the knowledge and confidence to fulfil her role and said, “I can apply what I learnt throughout the program to real situations in my everyday working life. There’s a lot of positives to working in a support role. I’ve worked with clients who don’t see other people very often and knowing that I’ve made a difference in their lives that day is really rewarding. All our clients are really grateful for the support they receive.”

If you’d like to kickstart your career in the Disability sector, one of the highest in-demand industries in Australia, the next program starts 14 February. For more information or to enrol, contact your Employment Consultant or email vwellard@globalskills.com.au
