lily with her employer and a ttw staff member

Congratulations Lily!

“I joined Global Skills TtW as I had no luck finding work on my own. With their support, I got my job at the Budgie Pub. My very first ever job.”

Congratulations to TtW job seeker Lily on reaching 6 months employment. Global Skills is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your journey and celebrate this milestone.

Lily, 19, joined Global Skills Transition to Work (TtW) program in July 2022 with no previous work experience and low confidence. With the support of her Employment Consultant, Kate, Lily worked hard to increase her skills and confidence including gaining her RSA and RCG certificates.

Then, in November 2022, Lily was offered the ideal opportunity. The Budgewoi Hotel asked Global Skills Executive Industry Manager Martin Petersons to help fill a variety of positions. With her RSA and RCG certificates secured, Lily was the perfect fit for a bartender position. After a successful interview Lily began work in early December 2022.

On reaching this 6 month milestone, Lily said, “I didn’t have a lot of confidence when I started with Global Skills but they are really supportive and understanding. They have been there for me the entire time. Kate has been fantastic. Everyone at the pub has been absolutely fantastic as well. I love my job. I really enjoy going to work and it’s good to have my own independence and money.”

Budgewoi Hotel Owner Daniel recently advised Kate that Lily was one of his top performers and he would love to offer Lily more training and opportunities as they arise.

Global Skills would like to take this opportunity to thank the Budgewoi Hotel for entrusting us with your recruitment needs.

Thanks also to Martin and our Lake Haven TtW team. We appreciate your efforts in creating a positive outcome for both Lily and her employer.
