Take 5 with Global Skills Employment Consultant Frank Zappia

Global Skills is incredibly proud of our diverse team of values-aligned people and invite you to meet them in our Take 5 series.

This week, we took 5 minutes out of Employment Consultant Frank Zappia’s busy day and asked him a few questions to help you get to know him.

Frank is a much-valued part of our Global Skills Liverpool team.

Q. What do you do at Global Skills?
A. As an Employment Consultant, I support job seekers find and keep meaningful employment.

Q. What do you enjoy about the work you do?
A. I enjoy helping people. I see people who may have come from, or are facing, challenging circumstances succeed in their employment goals. It’s really rewarding.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. I originally wanted to be an Accountant but I just naturally veered away from that over time. I’m more of a people person than a numbers person.

Q. What’s a typical work day like for you?
A. Every day is different. I make sure my job seekers know that I am available to help them whenever they need me. Most days I am very busy which is great. I enjoy being busy.

Q. What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
A. Empathy, honesty and genuine care for our job seekers. Everybody’s circumstances are different as are their challenges. It’s important to treat everyone with respect and tailor support to individual needs. I try to be someone my job seekers can rely on, trust and talk to if needed.

Q. What have you learnt in previous jobs and your past experience that helps you in your current job?
A. I’ve worked in many roles with one common denominator; they all involved working with people. I have vast experience with a diverse range of people. I use this previous experience to provide the best service I can to our job seekers.

Q. Best thing about being part of the Global Skills Team?
A. We have a great team here. We have great management support and not just in our local office. We have a company-wide culture where we support each other and work together to help each of our job seekers reach their goals.
