Congratulations Kieran!

Congratulations to Global Skills Lake Haven participant Kieran on reaching his 6-month employment milestone and recently gaining his driver licence.

Before settling on the Central Coast, Kieran moved around frequently, picking up odd jobs and short-term work wherever he could. Once he had a more stable home base, he was ready to focus on finding permanent work and building his future.

When he joined our Workforce Australia program, Kieran began working with his Employment Consultant, Veronica. He completed his Traffic Control and Forklift tickets and was keen to put his forklift qualification to use.

When a Voice Picker position became available at a Central Coast distribution centre, Kieran secured the role and started work in March 2026. Global Skills supported him with work clothes, boots, an Opal card for transport and driving lessons to help him get to work and work towards gaining his licence.

As a Voice Picker, Kieran uses a headset and pallet transporter to move through the warehouse, selecting products and preparing orders for stores across NSW.

“I like it because I pretty much work by myself. I drive up and down the aisles packing orders. You don’t have anyone else to worry about, just yourself and your orders,” Kieran said.

“Having a permanent job has definitely changed my life quite a bit. Having the stability of a regular job at the same place every day is great.”

Kieran has also reached another important milestone, recently gaining his driver licence.

“I’m excited. Being able to get to work easier will save me money because I won’t have to catch Ubers and buses. I’m saving up for a car,” he said.

Throughout his time with Global Skills, Kieran has appreciated Veronica’s ongoing support.

“Veronica has helped me quite a lot. She would call me to see how I was going and if I needed anything,” he said.

Congratulations again, Kieran, on reaching 6 months in employment and gaining your driver licence. Thank you for sharing your story.
