Congratulations to Global Skills Brookvale participant Chris on surpassing his 6-month employment milestone in a role he looks forward to each day.

Chris joined Global Skills’ Inclusive Employment Australia program in November 2025 and began working with his Employment Consultant Laura. Early in the new year, one of Global Skills’ employer partners had a Trades Assistant position available, and Laura knew it could be a great fit for Chris.

Chris secured the role and started work in February 2026. He now works across Sydney, installing and maintaining security camera systems, along with other security-related installations.

When Chris was offered the role, he was keen to get started and looking forward to the opportunity. Since then, he has continued to build his skills and confidence while enjoying the variety and challenges that come with working in the security industry.

“I look forward to going to work every day. I love that it keeps me challenged,” Chris said. “I am learning every day. My employer has been great with training and giving me advice, showing me the ropes. He is a great support and even now that I have settled in, I can ask his opinion and advice on anything. I am given responsibility and trust, which I value. It’s a great environment. I am grateful to have an employer who has supported me and given me the opportunity to learn and grow in the role.”

Chris is also grateful for the support he has received from Global Skills throughout his employment journey.

“Global Skills helped me build the confidence to take the steps needed to get into work,” Chris said. “They found me the job, helped me get the tickets I needed, including my Yellow Card, and helped me with the work gear I needed to start.

“The continued support has made a vast difference to me because I know I can contact Laura any day for reassurance and support with anything else I need.”
