This National Reconciliation Week, Global Skills’ Community Engagement Coordinator, Jennifer, had the privilege of attending the ‘Come Together for Reconciliation’ walk on the Central Coast.
Jennifer shared, ‘Come Together for Reconciliation’ was a walk from Coast Shelter’s head office in Gosford to Industree Group Stadium. It was a time to not only listen to local Aboriginal stories, but also observe their stories told through dance.”
The walk brought together community members from all walks of life in a show of unity, respect, and reflection. With this year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next, the gathering invited everyone to acknowledge the past, honour the present, and walk hand-in-hand towards a more inclusive and united future.
The morning culminated in a cultural celebration featuring traditional song and dance.
Events like this remind us of the power of shared stories and the importance of walking forward together.
