World Refugee Day is an occasion to honour the strength and courage of each person who has been forced to flee their home country and to recognise their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
Global Skills supports refugee jobs seekers to find sustainable employment which supports rebuilding their lives in Australia.
Recently, Global Skills worked with Community Corporate to identify job seekers for a tailored refugee IKEA NSW pre-employment program. Three of our job seekers have now graduated the program and will start work with IKEA next week.
Imad joined Global Skills in 2018, participating in our English language program. He was also provided with support to complete a course in Customer Engagement. As one of our IKEA pre-employment graduates, Imad said, “I am very happy to be in Australia. I am also very happy to be offered a job at IKEA. I will work as a Sales Assistant. I want to work to improve life for myself and for my family. I am thankful to all staff at Global Skills for helping me find this job. I am very excited.”
Congratulations to you all. We look forward to supporting you into work.
