After six years working in the corporate sector, Joshua Martinez went in search of a job with meaning. He found a career. Celebrating 10 years in employment services, March 2022, Josh said, “Throughout my Employment Consultant career, I have developed an immense passion for helping job seekers achieve their employment goals. I go home every day knowing I made a difference in my job seekers lives.”

Joshua joined Global Skills two years ago. He is a Senior Employment Consultant at our Ingleburn office.

“I love working with Global Skills,” said Joshua. “The greatest part of my role is supporting my job seekers develop skills that lead to employment and a positive future. The organisational focus on real engagement with our job seekers leads to understanding of the individual supports needed.

“I connect with my job seekers on a real level. So many have said their experience with me was really positive, that they felt understood, that their lives are improved.”

Joshua spent four years working in Vocational Rehabilitation and believes it strengthened his skills to assist job seekers accessing Employment Services. “My four years experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, including on the job training, means that I am well equipped to support job seekers who may have physical or mental health barriers to employment. I gained a new level and understanding of the importance of well-being.

Joshua has completed a Diploma of Business.

As for the future, Joshua said, “I look forward to continuing on this journey, meeting new job seekers whilst helping out my current ones.”
