Global Skills Awarded Workforce Australia Contracts in Sydney South West and Sydney North & West regions

Global Skills is excited to announce our organisation has been awarded contracts to deliver the Australian Government’s Workforce Australia service in Sydney South West and Sydney North & West regions. Global Skills secured generalist and ex-offender specialist contracts in both regions. Global Skills also successfully retained our Career Transition Assistance program in Greater Western Sydney region. Delivery of the programs will begin on 1 July 2022.

Workforce Australia replaces the jobactive program which Global Skills has delivered since 2015 to support Centrelink registered job seekers with their journey to sustainable employment. Workforce Australia will provide intensive, pre-employment and vocational support for job seekers to facilitate meaningful and strong employment outcomes for local communities across Australia.

The successful Workforce Australia and Career Transition Australia contracts were recently awarded following a tender carried out by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

On securing Workforce Australia contracts, Global Skills Director Rebecca Nicholls said, “We are extremely proud to be given the opportunity to expand our employment services to a new region and grow our current Sydney South West employment contract. This expansion will substantially increase our workforce, allowing our organisation to provide tailored employment support to a greater number of job seekers and employers.

“Our Workforce Australia tender results will further strengthen our organisational capacity and services for our stakeholders including community organisations and employers, especially after our recent success securing a Transition to Work contract on the NSW Central Coast.

“We wish to extend our thanks to our dedicated staff for their commitment, hard work and passion over the years to achieve this result and also our employer, industry and community partners who will continue to strengthen the services we deliver in the years ahead.”
