The Global Skills Foundation was created in 2007.

Global Skills Executive Committee allocates funds to various projects, services and charities whose goals are to support disadvantaged groups in the Greater Western Sydney region. Disadvantaged groups include indigenous persons, people with disabilities, refugees, youth, single parents, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and mature age persons.

The Foundation's Mission
The Foundation's mission is to build the capacity of local and regional support services which directly contribute to the achievement of greater social inclusion & health outcomes for disadvantaged groups.

Criteria for funding
Organisations working directly with any of the disadvantaged groups may make an application for financial support through the foundation.

What criteria applies for acceptable funding?
♦ Community support and brokerage
♦ Charitable support
♦ New or existing business development including innovative services
♦ Research and education grants

How does the funding approval process work?
Applications for funding can be made during June of each year (next funding round due in June 2010). Global Skills Executive Committee will review, research and approve applications before granting funding. Ongoing monitoring of allocated funds is a requirement for a minimum of 12 months, including mentoring and facilitation as required.
